Independent Bookstore Day Celebrates its 11th Anniversary

Flintridge Bookstore is happy to announce our participation in the 11th Anniversary of Independent Bookstore Day!

RENÉ COLATO LAINEZ: Let’s Play in the Park: Juguemos en el parque (<a href="https://holidayhouse.com/search-results/?search-term=nomar" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">My Friend, Mi Amigo</a> series) - Joe and José go to the park for a day filled with new friends. Everything one 
friend says in English, the other says in Spanish. Colato Laínez has crafted an ingenious story that authentically uses conversation to introduce children to English and Spanish. (ages 3-7)
<a href="https://www.edelweiss.plus/#sku=0823456080" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">El señor Pancho tenía un rancho</a> - "Old MacDonald Had a Farm” goes multicultural when animals come together for a celebration of languages. Barnyard animals on Old MacDonald's and Señor Pancho's farms have a hard time communicating. MacDonald's rooster says cock-a doodle-doo! while Señor Pancho's gallo says quiquiriquí. The English-speaking chick says peep, peep, but el pollito says pío, pío. (ages 3-6)

Independent Bookstore Day was established in 2013 to promote, recognize, and highlight the value of the independent bookstore community. It is organized by the American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization that works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers. The day has been observed on the last Saturday of April every year since 2013. This year there are over 900 stores participating across the country.
The celebration is a wonderful way for the community to come out and show their support of these vital brick-and-mortar businesses, but it also gives bookstores the opportunity to give back by providing an exciting day of programming and festivities for all ages.
Flintridge Bookstore is an independent, family-owned bookstore that has served the La Cañada Flintridge community since 2007. Our shelves offer a wide variety of books, as well as gifts, toys, stationery, and greeting cards. We carry core literature for the La Cañada Unified School District, so students and parents can swing by for their classroom requirements. We also have a full schedule of events, including author appearances, storytime, and book clubs, and we offer self-publishing services through our off-site Espresso Book Machine.
Flintridge Bookstore is located at 858 Foothill Blvd. La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011. The bookstore’s hours are: M - F, 10 AM - 8 PM; Sat, 10 AM – 7 PM, Sun, 10 AM – 6 PM.
