Nonprofit Group Seeks Homes for Cats and Kittens (Video)

Happy Strays brings foster cats to Petco regularly to help them find "forever" homes.

During many busy Saturdays this summer Jan Magnusson and her loyal volunteers have been at the La Cañada working to get their many foster cats and kittens adopted.

Magnusson is the founder of Happy Strays Rescue, a nonprofit she began after a cat rescue organization she used to work with folded. Since her charity began in 2006 it has found homes for over 1,000 cats. So far this year the group has successfully placed 115 cats.

Happy Strays operates through a network of devoted volunteers who take adult strays, kittens as young as newborns and even pregnant females into their homes and raise them until they are old enough to spay or neuter and then adopt out. Foster parents are on hand at adoption events to describe each cat's personality to prospective owners.
