With the Oscars behind us, La Cañada can focus on its biggest award: La Cañadan of the Year.

The La Cañada Kiwanis Club is seeking nominations for a person or a couple to win this year's award. Since 1951, the club has recognized one or two residents for their outstanding civic involvement. The selection criteria are:

You may download a nomination form here, but it needs to be dropped off or postmarked by today. Please mail forms to Gigi Schlueter, La Cañada Kiwanis Foundation P.O. Box 33 La Cañada Flintidge, CA 91012. You may also drop it off at Schlueter's office,  707 Foothill Blvd. Suite #2.

A member of the Kiwanis club will contact the nominee to garner information in support of that nomination. Last year's winner is LCF Councilwoman Laura Olhasso, who is running for re-election in the March 8 City Council race.

The winner or winners will be honored at a luncheon on May 4 at Van de Kamp Hall at Descanso Gardens.
