La Cañada Goes A Little Bit Country

The City of La Cañada recently sponsored a hoedown-themed Chamber of Commerce event that featured a country music band.

Olberz Park looked like a western movie set recently, complete with cowboy garb, leather saddles and a covered wagon. 

Thesponsored the Chamber of Commerce event, Downtown Hoedown, for its monthly chamber event. Patrons were treated to cornbread and barbeque pork while the country band Killin' Time entertained the cowboy-clad crowd. 

Mingling among the business owners and residents was new La Cañada High School principal . La Cañada Unified School District Superintendent Wendy Sinnette introduced the new administrator to several parents eager to meet the district's latest addition.

McFeat, sporting a soul patch (small patch of hair beneath his lip) and enjoying a Dos Equis Amber as the sun slid behind the San Gabriels, pointed out the students he's met so far have really impressed him. 

"I'm excited for the school year and to meet all of the kids,'' he said.

During the event, Wes Seastrom, La Cañada's chairman of the board, pointed out that many of the props used to decorate the park will be on set in Johnny Depp's new movie, "The Lone Ranger.'' Depp will play Tonto in the Disney film still in production.
