Mt. Waterman to Open Trails to Mountain Bikers

The hill has been closed for two winters due to a lack of snow.

Beginning in July, Mt. Waterman will open its hill to mountain bikers.

Dates have not yet been confirmed but the resort will have six trails to bike down, food and drinks at the Warming Hut and a few special events, according to the facility's Facebook page

For the non cyclists, there will be scenic rides to the top.

Back-to-back dry winters precluded skiing and snowboarding at the small mountain resort for the last two years. Mt. Waterman relies on nature for snow, the website states. The resort is located some 30 miles north of La Cañada, and had long been a local destination for winter sports.

Mt. Waterman will be open Friday to Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Prices for biking are  $40 all day or $20 for one ride. Check the website ticket page for scenic pricing.

The resort will announce the opening date on Facebook and its website
