Women's Club Names Miss LCF Court

Four young women from La Cañada High and one from Westridge School earned spots on the Miss La Cañada Flintridge Royal Court Friday night.

With friends and family screaming their names, as flashes popped and posters waved, five young ladies were named to the Miss La Cañada Flintridge Royal Court Friday night.

The new reigning court is comprised of Lauren Barsamian, Sarah Bartine, Joelle Dorse and Amy Young, all of La Cañada High School, and Kendall Millard of Westridge School in Pasadena. They were announced during the annual event at .

Co-sponsored by the and the La Cañada Junior Women’s Club, the Miss La Cañada-Flintridge Contest annually honors five outstanding LCF young women.

The contest awards a $500 scholarship to Miss La Cañada-Flintridge and $250 scholarships to each of the four members of her court. The Royal Court acts as representatives of LCF at various community events and activities throughout their year-long reign.

Miss LCF 2011, , and her court will end their reigns and pass on their crowns in January.

Some of the activities Miss LCF and her court participate in include ribbon cutting ceremonies, fundraising activities, Fiesta Days celebrations, and Chamber of Commerce mixers and events. As part of their duties, Miss LCF and her court will participate in a coronation ceremony and publicity photos.

According to the Chamber, Miss LCF and each young lady selected for the court is expected to act honorably while holding her title, exhibiting at all times poise, self-respect, and “good moral judgment”.
