Students Give This Holiday Season Through Adopt-A-Family

The LCFCC Preschool supports Children's Hospital by preparing and delivering gift baskets on Dec. 20.

La Canada Flintridge Community Center Preschool students adopted the families of three patients from the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles through the Adopt-A-Family program this holiday season.

According to the LCFCC Preschool press release, the school's volunteers prepared large gift baskets and delivered them to the hospital on Dec. 20. Nearly 80 presents, including much-needed winter clothing and other essentials like diapers, were given to the hospital.

"These families are faced with the tremendous financial and emotional challenge of caring for an ill child," said Danielle Caputo, Director of LCF Community Center Preschool, in the press release. "Not only are we helping to make the holiday season a joyful time for these families, but we are also providing our preschoolers the opportunity to learn about the importance of helping those in need."

The preschool has been a part of the Adopt-A-Family program for the past 13 years, according to the press release. "Caputo takes great care in ensuring that the school becomes an extension of the home and programs such as "Adopt-A-Family" are a perfect fit with the school’s philosophy and curriculum."
