St. Francis Standout Talianko Signs with San Jose

A week before his 18th birthday, Travis Talianko signed his letter of intent to play football for San Jose State University this fall. He will be a safety. Another St. Francis player also signed to a four-year university Wednesday.

The St. Francis standout, a wide receiver and defensive back for the Knights, has signed his letter of intent to play safety this fall, according to the SJSU athletics website. Statistics for the high school senior's "prolific pass catching career'' include catching 155 passes for 2,492 yards, and 27 touchdowns in three varsity seasons, the article states.

The 6-foot 1-inch, 200-pound Talianko also played basketball when he was a freshman and sophomore.

Talianko's letter of intent signing comes a week before his 18th birthday.

Also joining in the signing day excitement is St. Francis offensive lineman Kristion Grbavac. He will play for the University of San Diego in the fall.
