School District Considering Parcel Tax Renewal

The governing board plans to use a survey to measure the interest of residents.

La Cañada Unified School District's governing board could utilize a survey to measure the public's feeling on a potential 2014 parcel tax. The survey could be produced as early as may, according to a story in the La Cañada Valley Sun.

The tax discussion was among the talking points during the board's meeting earlier this week. According to the Valley Sun, a decision on the survey -- which will cost $20,000 -- is expected at the next meeting, which takes place April 16.

A new parcel tax would help the district elude a lapse when Measure LC expires in June of 2014, the Valley Sun states.
