LCF Athletes Shine at Dive Invitational

The Pasadena Rose Bowl Aquatics Center netted a first-place victory at the annual 2012 Dive Invitational.

Five athletes from La Cañada schools competed in the Annual 2012 Rose Bowl Dive Invitational at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center, and helped earn a first-place finish in the competition, according to a release from the Center. 

Divers 5 to 18 years old were grouped by age and gender and competed in the 1- and 3-meter springboards, as well as the 5-, 7.5- and 10-meter platforms. Medals were given to those who placed in the top six. By the end of the competition, which ran March 17 and 18, the Rose Bowl placed first, with 1,059 points--some 275 points over second-place Crown Valley.

Multiple local athletes competed, including the following from : Kory Taylor, an eight-grader, and Haley Ragusa and Sydney Okland, seventh graders; Matthew Baker, a fifth-grader at , and Caroline Bender, a freshman at .
