LCF's Newest Restaurant Offers Free Gourmet Coffee to Educators

The Flintridge Proper, a new neighborhood restaurant and bar in La Cañada, is celebrating National Teacher Appreciation week by offering its locally roasted, specially blended gourmet coffee free to faculty and staff of any of LCF's public or private schools from May 6-10.

According to owners and local residents Mary and Brady Caverly, "Our community has some of the finest schools in the country, and some of the finest faculty anywhere. We wanted to do something to show our appreciation for all they do for our kids and the community,'' they said in a prepared statement.

Any faculty or staff from any LCF school is welcome to stop in any time, and as often as one would like, during the week to enjoy a Proper cup of coffee and a great big "Thank You" from their friends at The Flintridge Proper.

On weekdays, the restaurant opens at 8 a.m., so for all those classroom teachers who are nose-deep into their second cup of home-brewed java (and first period) by that point, consider an afternoon pick-me-up or a gratis beverage to accompany your weekend brunch.

The Flintridge Proper is a neighborhood restaurant and bar located in the foothills of La Canada Flintridge serving upscale American comfort food with a local, farm-to-table approach and featuring a classic cocktail lounge which boasts the nation's largest selection of gin. The bar and café, featuring locally roasted, gourmet coffee, freshly baked pastries and squeezed-to-order juices, are open all day long with a menu of pub snacks served until late.
