LCE Principal to Retire in June

The La Cañada Unified School District will begin a nationwide search for her replacement on March 19.

Principal Elissa DeAngelo will retire from her post in June after four years with the district. 

will begin its nationwide candidate search for the new principal on March 19, with electronic and print announcements of the position opening, including qualifications and instructions for applicants, according to Superintendent Wendy Sinnette. She anticipates recommending a candidate to the governing board for approval at the May 8 meeting.

"Ms. DeAngelo has served as principal of La Cañada Elementary since 2008.  Her years of dedicated service are greatly appreciated. She will be missed by La Cañada Elementary School's students, parents, teachers, staff members and all of her District colleagues,'' Sinnette wrote in a prepared statement.

"The governing board and the entire district wish her happiness in her retirement, and hope that this new chapter in her life is filled with opportunities for new adventures and time for friends, family and other rewarding pursuits,'' Sinnette added.
