CSI Comes to LCUSD

Deputy District Attorney Valerie Aenlle-Rocha teaches a Crime Scene Investigation Class to intermediate students.

With oversized photos of the evidence projected onto a screen, fifth and sixth graders from La Cañada Unified School District tried their hand at amateur sleuthing Thursday afternoon. Forty five students are enrolled in the GATE after-school program, Criminal Justice II, CSI Crime Scene Investigation.

Taught by Valerie Aenlle-Rocha, a deputy district attorney and grand jury legal advisor for Los Angeles County, the class is held at , but includes students from and . Aenlle-Rocha invited J.J. Cavaleri, senior criminalist with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, to present cases to her students.
