Truck Driver's Murder Acquittal: A Photo Gallery

Five days of deliberations yielded a verdict Friday for former truck driver Marcos Costa, who killed a father and daughter and injured three others in a 2009 big-rig wreck.

Marcos Costa's murder trial ended Friday when jurors acquitted the Massachusetts resident of second-degree murder, but found him guilty of involuntary manslaughter, gross vehicular manslaughter and reckless driving causing injury.

Two people died and three others suffered injuries on Apr. 1, 2009 when the 46-year-old's big-rig lost its brakes on Angeles Crest Highway and sped out of control toward Foothill Boulevard. The 25-ton vehicle slammed into Angel Posca's car, instantly killing the 58-year-old . The hulking vehicle hit several other cars before slamming into the former .

Costa, a Brazilian native, could face nine years in prison. His sentencing hearing is Sept. 8.
