Supervisor Allocates $30K to LCF Park

Resident Liz Blackwelder has long championed the pocket park, having donated $35,000 of her own money toward the $136,000 project.

A county supervisor allocated $30,000 today to La Canada Flintridge to help pay for a long-awaited pocket park at the end of a hiking trail.

Supervisor Michael Antonovich offered the funds, available under the Safe Neighborhood Parks Proposition.

Dubbed the Ultimate Destination Point Project, the rest area at the end of a local .62-mile hiking trail on the upper slopes of Cherry Canyon was championed by Liz Blackwelder.
