Mountain Roads Reopen Following Storm

The Angeles Forest Highway shortcut between Palmdale and La Canada was reopened to traffic today.
But chains were required on portions of the route, according to Caltrans. Installed chains were required on state Route 2 from the Angeles National Forest boundary east past the Mt. Wilson turnoff to Islip Saddle. The highway remains closed for the winter from Islip Saddle to the Mountain High Ski Area, west of Wrightwood.
Angeles Forest Highway, the roads in Big Tujunga Canyon and other county roads in the mountains were opened today, after being closed for two days because of the latest winter storm.
