JPL: NuSTAR Telescope is a Black Hole Hunter (Video)

Scientists explain how this powerful telescope offers a new window on the universe.

NuSTAR, Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array, is the first high-energy x-ray telescope that focuses 10-times crisper and sharper on objects glowing in radioactivity, said Fiona Harrison, NuSTAR principal investigator.

The telescope will look at phenomena such as black holes, black holes that are the about the size of the mass of Earth's sun, exploding stars, and the atmopshere of the sun, she said.
