Candidates for June 5 Primary Election Finalized

Editor's Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported La Cañada's newly-drawn U.S. Congressional district. La Cañada is now part of the 28th congressional district. With the candidates on the June 5 primary election ballot finalized, campaigns and voter registration drives are underway.

Recently drawn redistricting maps place La Cañada in the 28th Congressional District and shift the city's assembly district to the 43rd, currently represented by Mike Gatto. The state senate district is the 25th.

The top two vote-getters in the June 5 primary election will advance to the Nov. 6 general election regardless of party preference or whether one candidate receives a majority of votes in the primary. The primary election will include elections for U.S. President, the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, as well as state Senate and state Assembly seats.

La Cañadans who need to register to vote or change their political party or address may fill out a registration form available at both the and the . The deadline to register for the June Primary Election is May 21.
