Updated: Vehicle Overside of Angeles Crest Highway, Passenger Airlifted

Update 11 a.m: One person is being airlifted to a local hospital from the accident, according to Posada.  She did not have immediate information on the extent of the person's injuries.

Update 10:45 a.m
: The vehicle is about 300 feet down over the side of the highway, according to Officer Monica Posada of the California Highway Patrol.  She said she does not have information yet on whether or not the vehicle was occupied when it went over the side and said it may take some time for on-scene personnel to determine that.

Original: A vehicle has gone over the side of the Angeles Crest Highway in the area around Newcomb's Ranch, according to the California Highway Patrol log.

Fire Department paramedics are en route to the scene, according to the log.  The accident was reported at 10:05 a.m.
