Tujunga Man Charged with Carjacking, Attempted Murder After Crash on 2 Freeway in LCF
Manuel Jesus Rodriguez is facing two felony counts of attempted murder, a charge for carjacking and a count of assaulting a man with a firearm.
A Tujunga man and reputed gang member has been charged with trying to kill two Glendale men during a carjacking and later after crashing a car on the Glendale (2) Freeway in La Cañada Flintridge.
Manuel Jesus Rodriguez, 28, of Tujunga is facing two felony counts of attempted murder, a charge for carjacking and a count of assaulting a man with a firearm, according to the Glendale News-Press.
Rodriguez allegedly carjacked a car Tuesday and fired shots at the victim near Broadway and Sinclair Avenue in Glendale around 10 p.m.

Rodriguez then allegedly crashed the car on the northbound Glendale (2) Freeway and opened fire on a Good Samaritan who stopped to help, according to the News-Press. Neither victim was wounded.
Rodriguez allegedly fled on foot and was caught by CHP officers around 11 p.m. about half a mile west at Verdugo Boulevard in Glendale. At some point, police said he had shot himself in the foot, according to the News-Press.
