Teenage Bicyclist Survives 150-Foot Plunge Off Angeles Crest Highway

The 16-year-old Altadena boy rode his bike too close to the edge before he slipped of a cliff.

A 16-year-old bicyclist from Altadena survived a 150-foot fall off Angeles Crest Highway on Wednesday, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials said.

The rider rode down the winding highway about 7:55 a.m. when he came too close to the edge and slipped off at milemarker 28.5, dropping 150 feet straight down, according to Sheriff's Capt. Dave Silversparre of the Crescenta Valley Station.

Montrose Search and Rescue team was called out along with Crescenta Valley Station deputies to handle the incident, Silversparre told Patch.

The rider, whose name was not released, was air lifted out by a Los Angeles County Fire helicopter and brought to a waiting ambulance at the turn out, he said.

He was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital by ambulance with minor sprains and scratches, Silversparre said.

Very funny, my comment that the hayes comment was weird is removed, but the hayes comment is still there. I recommend no one click those links, they are likely to infect your computer.

Diana... Seriously..you are infecting me with your class of writing....very cool. I have been wondering about the biker lately...he just disappeared....from off this thread, I mean...and, I suppose that in a way, he just disappeared. I would guess you never found out what brand of helmet he had.....I also appreciated your rebuke of some rather crude expressions used by another person. Maybe the person who is obsessed by sending links is the guy who rode his bike off the cliff. Wouldn;t that be a gas if it were true.. Maybe his teen friends are rejoicing that he was not hurt abit; he is just the same. Hope you had a safe and sane Thanksgiving....LOL b[

Robert, if I read you right, you are suggesting that hayes is the bike-rider with the secret, super-special helmet. it sounds good to me. I hope your Thanksgiving was great. Mine was.
