Sports Chalet Hosts Blood Drive, Sets Up Funds for Injured Employees

The two funds are www.giveforward.com/Victor and www.giveforward.com/Lauren.

Sport Chalet announced Friday a partnership with the local American Red Cross to host a blood drive in support of the two employees who were injured in last Friday’s explosion outside the La Cañada store.

The blood drive will be held at the corporate offices, One Sport Chalet Drive, La Cañada, CA 91011 on Tuesday, March 26th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The entire Sport Chalet team will be participating. Customers and friends of Victor and Lauren are invited to participate as well.

In addition, a press release states, Sport Chalet has established two funds to further support the two injured employees: www.giveforward.com/Victor and www.giveforward.com/Lauren. Both websites are set-up to receive contributions directly from Sport Chalet employees, vendors, customers and friends to help support the families of both Victor and Lauren in this time of distress.

. Gonzalez suffered second-and third-degree burns over 61 percent of his body, Martinez said. The other victim was identified as Lauren Polzin, 27.

Sport Chalet is also collecting gift cards from restaurants, grocery stores, and other retailers on behalf of the families.  Gift cards should be dropped off or mailed to the company’s Corporate Offices at the address above.

“The company continues to support both families to aid in their recovery,” Craig Levra, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sport Chalet, said in a prepared statement.

“On behalf of Victor and Lauren, their families and the entire Sport Chalet team, we thank everyone for their overwhelming support.”
