Police Raid Silver Lake Homes for Clues in Gatto Killing

It's unclear yet whether the sweep yielded any new evidence.

Police raided about 90 homes in Silver Lake Thursday morning in part of the ongoing investigation into the shooting death of Joseph Gatto, the father of Assemblyman Mike Gatto, KTLA reports.

The sweep was part of a compliance check, though the Los Angeles Police Department has yet to say if the effort revealed any new clues.

Gatto, a former teacher, was found shot to death Nov. 13 in his home in the 2800 block of Bright Lane in Silver Lake.

A suspect was spotted the night before the killing and threatened witnesses with death when he was caught breaking into a vehicle in the 2300 block of Moreno Drive, according to Officer Sara Faden of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.
