Motorcycle Crash Shuts Down Angeles Crest
Rider flown to area hospital and the Sig Alert issued earlier has been lifted.
A motorcyclist sustained major injuries after crashing on Angeles Crest Highway Sunday morning.
The rider received major injuries and was flown to Huntington Memorial Hospital, said an officer with the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened a little after 10:30 a.m. near mile marker 37.6. The call initially reported a motorcycle over the side, but fire fighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department learned only one motorcyclist was down on the road, according to scanner reports.
By 10:51 a.m. both sides of ACH were closed for a rescue helicopter to arrive.
The roadway was cleared and the Sig Alert was lifted by 11:29 a.m., according to the CHP.
