The team is ready to respond to most mountainous emergencies, whether it is a lost or injured hiker, skier or rock climber. Members come from all walks of life but share a common bond: the sense of satisfaction felt when the team returns a lost hiker to their family, or provides necessary medical assistance to an injured biker, Sgt. Mark Slater wrote in a prepared statement.

Capt. Dave Silversparre added that the search and rescue team excels "in helping people in their time of need, whether searching a local community for a lost person or rescuing someone from a mountainous hillside.”
