Crime Blotter: Maid, Nanny Report Prowlers

The following reports were taken from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Crescenta Valley Station. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Neighbors Report Attempted Burglary and Burglary

On Thursday, Nov. 10 at 12:35 p.m., deputies responded to a suspicious person call in the 800 block of Saint Katherine Drive. A woman reported that her maid had noticed a man wearing a white beanie, white gloves and white jacket in the backyard of the residence. The witness also saw the man, along with two additional suspects, jump the residence’s front gate, and run toward the street and out of view. The maid then called the homeowner who immediately came home. Together, they checked the residence and found that all doors and windows were secure and did not appear to have been tampered with.

While at the location, a neighbor came over and notified deputies that his house had been burglarized at the same time. He reported that he had received a call from his neighbor’s nanny telling him that she had seen a man wearing gloves in a neighbor’s backyard. The returned home and found two gates at the property open despite having closed both when he had left that morning for work. A door to the master bedroom had been smashed and the room’s closet ransacked.

She yelled at the man, who ignored her and walked to a black Cadillac Crossover, got into the drivers seat and drove off campus and onto the 210 Freeway eastbound.

TVs Tossed

At 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, a deputy driving along Oak Grove Drive noticed two televisions broken into pieces on the campus of, 4463 Oak Grove Drive. Upon investigating, the deputy noted that it appeared both TVs had been dropped or thrown from the upper floors of the main office building, landing on and damaging a wood bench. The TVs are not believed to belong to the school but instead may have been dropped off at the school for an e-waste event scheduled for the following week.
