A house fire in La Crescenta that caused $25,000 in property damage left this little feline short of breath - but alive, thanks to deputies.

Deputies from the of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department revived a La Crescenta kitty after a recent house fire.

Just before 10:30 a.m. on June 6 firefighters and police responded to a house fire in the 5100 block of Glenwood Avenue, said Lt. Angela Shepherd. No residents were inside the property, however, the family cat was still inside.

Deputies Roger Burt, Chad Plumier, and Brian Tibbett kicked in the front door which allowed fire firefighters to go inside, where they found the cat unresponsive. The deputies administered oxygen to the calico and revived it. Fire Department unit #63 responded with Captain Funke and Investigator Dahlmeier, Shepherd said.
