Crews with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department rescued two people Sunday after they suffered from heat related issues in the Angeles National Forest.
The first victim was reported around 11:20 a.m. on Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road around mile marker 6.8. Fire fighters also arrived on scene to treat the victim, who suffered from heat stroke. The victim was eventually treated and transported to an area hospital, said authorities from the
Rescue crews were soon notified of a second victim near mile marker 6 on Upper Big Tujuna. According to scanner reports, authorities were notified of a person down in the area. The second victim may have been a bicyclist as authorities reportedly worked to secure a bicycle in safe storage as the victim was transported to an area hospital.
Temperatures were in the low 90s in the area, with humidity levels around 39 percent, according to the National Weather Service.
