Friday Evening Collision Ties Up Angeles Crest

Minor injuries were reported in the solo crash, authorities said.

A SigAlert tied up traffic on Angeles Crest Highway, Friday, after a motorist drove over the side of the road.

The male driver reportedly suffered only minor injuries and was walked up from the crash to the road after his vehicle went about 30 to 50 feet over the side around 6:14 p.m. Friday. The driver was transported by ambulance to Huntington Memorial Hospital as a precaution, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Los Angeles County fire fighters were reportedly on the Crest at another incident when they received a report of a vehicle over the side, according to scanner reports.

Fire fighters went to the location of the crash near mile marker 31.65. Once on scene, authorities determined the driver reportedly was not trapped and appeared to have very few, if any, injuries.

Authorities issued a SigAlert at 6:25 p.m. Friday on both sides of Angeles Crest while the driver made it top side. The Sig Alert was canceled at 7:21 p.m., according to the CHP.
