Fire at Descanso Gardens Burns Motor Home, Shed and Vehicles

Firefighters extinguish the blaze in about two hours.

A noninjury fire at Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge burned a shed, a motor home and several other vehicles, authorities said Friday.

The fire at the 150-acre botanical garden in the 1400 block of Descanso Drive was reported at 4:18 a.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department Inspector Scott Miller.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze in about two hours, an effort Miller said was complicated by live wires that came down on two sides of the shed.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.

Descanso Gardens was closed today, but would reopen Saturday morning, facility officials said.
