Detectives Recover Stolen, $4k Bicycle

Prized possession bicycle, swiped from Castle Road, found in Oregon.

After countless hours of investigation, detectives from the located a custom bicycle worth $4,000 stolen from a home in La Canada Flintridge and returned it to the owner, authorities said Thursday

The bicycle was stolen from a home in the 4500 block of Castle Road on June 8, said Sgt. Debra L. Herman.

The owner had spent a great deal of time building the bicycle, so it had great sentimental value in addition to its monetary value, Herman said.

Detectives learned that the bicycle was advertised for sale on Craigslist, and began searching for it. During their investigation, they executed two search warrants in the Antelope Valley and then located it in Oregon, Herman said.

The detectives returned the bicycle to its owner on Monday and detectives are following leads to nab the suspects.
