Deputies Investigating Deceased Man Found in Angeles National Forest
Man appeared to have a self-inflicted stab wound to his neck.
Detectives with the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau are investigating the circumstances surrounding a deceased man found near a mountain road.
The man was found around 8 a.m. Thursday after deputies received a call about a vehicle parked in the area for three days. Deputies found the car and then discovered the body about 100 yards from the vehicle, said Lieutenant Brian Fitch of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station.
The man had what appeared to be a self-inflicted stab wound to his neck and lacerations to his left foot. A large butcher knife was found next to the body, Fitch said.
No further description of the man was immediately available. The car was located near mile marker 8.09 along a road in the Angeles National Forest, but which road was not immediately clear, Fitch said.
No further information was available.
