Crime Blotter: Ex-boyfriend Threatens to Beat LCF Woman, Stab Dogs

The following incidents were reported to the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Criminal Threats

A 24-year-old La Cañada woman told deputies from that her ex-boyfriend threatened to hurt her brothers and her, as well as stab her dogs to death, according to a police report.

The suspect, a Glendale man, was not at the woman's residence when authorities arrived, but the alleged victim told police he'd threatened her over the phone because she "bad mouthed him'' to several mutual high school friends, the report states. The woman told police she'd not spoken to any of those high school acquaintances in five years.

The woman's former boyfriend allegedly threatened that he was wealthy and "connected'' to people in gangs who could carry out his wish so he wouldn't have to "get his hands dirty,'' the report stated. The man may be bi-polar and have access to guns, the report noted.

Showcase Accessories Swiped

The Pasadena Showcase House of Design, which featured a home in the 700 block of Hillcrest Drive this year, borrowed thousands of dollars worth of accessories from a furnishings and antique business. Six of 19 items borrowed were not returned, according to a police report. It appears the items were stolen between May 18 and June 19 while waiting to be picked up and returned, the report states.
