Crime Blotter: Public Intoxication and Auto Burglaries

The following reports were taken from the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Drunk in Public 

A Hollywood man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Castle Lane at 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 27. Eddy Vielman, 25, was allegedly found stumbling and disoriented by deputies. Vielman was found to be on probation and was arrested after falling on a grassy mound.

Stolen Gardening Equipment and Auto Burglaries

An auto burglary was reported on the 4700 block of Alta Canyada Road between 3:45 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 30. The victim returned to his 2003 Chevy Silverado and noticed that the rear camper shell window of the vehicle was shattered and $750 in gardening equipment was missing. Stolen items include a weedwacker and hedge trimmer.

An auto burglary was reported on 1900 block of Verdugo Boulevard between 5:50 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Jan. 25. The victim returned to his vehicle and noted there were pry marks on the door handle and the steering column was broken. No items were reported stolen.

Mountain Bike Theft

A residential burglary was reported on the 5300 block of Alta Canyada Drive between 6 p.m. on Jan. 22 and 8 p.m. on Jan. 27. The victim noted that a $2,3000 custom mountain bike and two saddle pads, valued at $100, were stolen from his unlocked garage.

Missing Trash Bin

A victim on the 1000 block of Flintridge Avenue reported that her green Athens trash bin was stolen from the front of her residence between 8 p.m. on Jan. 26 and 11 a.m. on Jan. 27.
