Crime Blotter: Skaters Spotted with Hot Chairs

Juvenile Skaters Spotted with Missing Chairs

On the afternoon of October 27, deputies were contacted by concerned man who claimed to have seen three male juveniles skateboarding in a parking lot allegedly carrying chairs the man recognized as belonging to nearby , 639 Foothill Blvd.

He told deputies that it was not the first time he had seen the skateboarders with the chairs and noted that the same juveniles are known to skateboard through the area at about 3:30 p.m. on week days.

A manager of Zeli told deputies that two weeks earlier, three chairs did indeed go missing from outside the coffee bar. She noted that the chairs are brought into the store every night and placed outside every morning by employees. She had been on vacation during that week, but upon learning of the missing chairs, had confirmed with employees that the chairs had been stolen and not merely removed due to disrepair.

The four silver, metal chairs are valued at $220.

Nighttime Disappearance

Before going to bed at 1 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, a resident in the 500 block of Hillard Avenue took off his watch and ring and placed them in a basket beside his kitchen sink. The next morning, the items were gone. Deputies reported no signs of forced entry. The victim noted that he often left his sliding door open for his dogs and that it was open during the time of the suspected burglary. Reported stolen were a TAG Heuer stainless steel and gold watch is valued at $5,000 and a gold wedding band valued at $1,000.
