Crime Blotter: Smashed Sliding Glass Door, Auto Burglary

Theft from Unlocked Car
An auto burglary was reported in the 1100 block of Lavender Lane between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. on Jan. 17. The victim returned to her 2008 Volkswagen Jetta and saw that several items were missing including an iPad 2, leather purse, driver’s license, Chevron credit card, Bluetooth keyboard miscellaneous cards. The victim noted that she had left her vehicle unlocked.
Smashed Sliding Glass Doors and Residential Burglaries

Between 9 a.m. and 12 a.m. on Jan. 18 a resident in the 500 block of Dartmouth Place noted that his neighbor’s gardener saw a black SUV driven by two men parked in front the residence while he was gone. Several items, valued at $2,650, were stolen from inside the residence including a pearl necklace, two acrylic paintings and a leather men’s jewelry box. It is likely that the suspect entered the residence through the master bedroom window and exited through a sliding glass door.
A residential burglary was reported in the 800 block of Chehalem Road at 1:42 p.m. on Jan. 18. The victim noted that her alarm company notified her of the burglary, but no items were reported stolen. The suspect apparently entered the residence by smashing open the rear sliding glass doors.
