Crime Blotter: Home Burglaries, Stolen Credit Cards

The following incidents were reported to the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Construction Tools Taken from Car

On May 2, a 52-year-old La Cañada male reported a burglary in the 4700 block of Daleridge Road. He found his car’s rear left passenger window smashed with an unknown object and his construction tools were missing from the rear passenger seat. The tools were worth a total of $1,550.

A 58-year-old La Cañada female told the police on April 26 that she found her home ransacked at 5300 block of Linda Vista Drive. While she was at work, her neighbor called her to tell her that her dogs were barking unusually loud. She returned to her house to find that someone had broken into her house and ransacked it. The robber entered her house by breaking a glass door pane and stole her pearl necklace, which was worth $1000.

Burglar Nabs Cash, Watch From Home

On April 26, a 58-year-old La Cañada male contacted the police regarding a home burglary. An unidentified person entered the house in the 4900 block of Crown Avenue through a rear door. His son was asleep in his room at the time, and didn’t see or hear anything suspicious. $440 in cash, $155 in coins, and a $600 stainless steel watch was taken from the man’s bedroom.

Pizza Hut Sign Missing

A magnetic, plastic, metal “Pizza Hut” sign was taken from the Pizza Hut at 942 Foothill Boulevard. A 22-year-old male reported the lost sign, worth $100, on April 24. The sign was on top of a car that was parked in a lot near the store.

Swindled Credit Cards

On May 1, a 49-year-old La Cañada female living in the 4900 block of Gould Avenue reported her credit cards stolen. A neighbor contacted the resident to let her know that her mail was found scattered on the neighbor’s driveway. A credit card taken from the mail was used in three different locations to purchase gas and withdraw cash advances.
