Crime Blotter: $10,000 in Construction Tools Stolen

Burglar Nets $10,000 in Tools
A 62-year-old La Cañada man reported on March 17 that an unidentified person stole $10,000 worth of tools from his residence in the 5000 block of Angeles Crest Highway. The burglar broke in through the window and stole a jackhammer and other construction tools. The house is currently under construction and did not have an alarm system set up.
Car Seats Swiped

An unidentified person stole a row of car seats from a 50-year-old La Cañada man’s unlocked car between March 16-18. His vehicle was parked at his home in the 5600 block of Bramblewood Road when he noticed someone had snatched his seats. The loss was estimated at $2,500.
Golf Clubs Gone

A 50-year-old La Cañada woman told police that on March 17 someone stole a set of golf clubs from her locked car. The thief smashed her driver’s side window to access the trunk, where the golf clubs had been stored.
Camera Equipment Copped
A 17-year-old La Cañada youth told police someone stole $1,450 worth of camera equipment from his locked car parked at his home in the 1500 block of Descanso Drive. No windows were broken and it was unclear how the thief grabbed the goods.
Smashed Window, Stolen Lunch Bag
A 40-year-old Northridge woman reported that on March 16 an unidentified person smashed her locked Honda Civic’s passenger side window while parked in the 2100 block of Foothill Boulevard. The damage to the car was estimated at $500. A $10 lunch bag was stolen.
