Coroner Identifies Body Found on Angeles Crest

A motorist found the male body early Thursday on the side of Angeles Crest Highway. Shell casings were found nearby, according to a source.

Authorities have identified the body found on the side of Angeles Crest Highway Thursday as that of Noe Vasquez, City News Service reports. 

Vasquez was 35 years old, according to the La Cañada Valley Sun. Patch reported yesterday he may have suffered a gunshot wound. No autopsy has been performed yet, the newspaper reports. The death was being investigated as a homicide, said Ed Winter, assistant chief for the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner. 

The body was found at Mile Marker 27, just three miles above La Cañada Flintridge.

The CHP while homicide investigators combed an expansive area of the Angeles National Forest. The road was reopened Thursday night.
