LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE (CNS) -
UPDATE, 1:35 p.m.: A motorcyclist from the San Fernando Valley was killed in a single-vehicle crash on the Angeles Crest Highway, the California Highway Patrol said Sunday.
The motorcyclist was identified as Dan Cretu, 38, of Valley Village, according to a department statement.
The bike went over the side of the canyon road about 4 miles north of the Foothill (210) Freeway, and crashed into the Angeles National Forest entry sign. He flew off the 2012 Aprilia and came to a rest on the dirt and grass slope below the road.
Paramedics airlifted Cretu to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, where he was pronounced dead.
PREVIOUSLY: An autopsy was pending today on a motorcycle rider killed in a crash on the Angeles Crest Highway.
The rider went down about 4 miles north of the Foothill (210) Freeway, near Mile Marker 27.65, about 11:20 a.m. Saturday and was declared dead at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, according to the California Highway Patrol.
No other information was made available. The man's name was unavailable early today.
