Updated: Oxy Students Rescued in Switzer Falls

A woman in her 20s called into Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station after she was unable to locate her friends.

An overnight stay in Switzer Falls for four friends Saturday triggered a successful search-and-rescue effort in the area Sunday morning, according to the .

Four students in their early 20s were planning to spend the night in the Switzer Falls area, said Lt. Angela Shepherd. But two of the women decided against it and instead spent the night in their car. The pair then tried to regroup with their friends, but were unable to track them down, leading to a call into the station at roughly 9 a.m.

Shepherd said the women were found safe and uninjured at 10:10 a.m., then safely escorted to their vehicle.
