Angeles Crest Crash Victim is a Montrose Resident

Authorities continue to investigate the death of Maral Joulakian.

The body found near a car, which skidded 200 feet down an embankment on Angeles Crest Highway, has been identified as Maral Joulakian of Montrose.

Coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said Tuesday California Highway Patrol officers are investigating the circumstances of the 43-year-old's death.

Caltrans crews spotted the car about 1:45 p.m. Monday at mile marker 31.10 in the Angeles National Forest in an area known as ``Sack Wall,'' said Los Angeles County firefighter Inspector Brian Riley. Riley said that at first check, no one was found inside the car. The body was later found near the vehicle.
