Blog: What are you Looking for in a Preschool?

Looking at Nursery Schools!

For new moms, sending our children off to school can be one of the hardest things! We have controlled our children's environment since birth - then (it seems so sudden) they are ready to go to school. Hitting the middle part of the school year allows us to evaluate our choices in schools for our children.  Have we found the right fit for our child? How has our child melded with the school curriculum?

At Crescenta-Canada Nursery School parents get to be a part of the everyday activities of the classroom.  They get to watch first hand as their child learns new skills, experiences new things and makes new friends. Parents get the pleasure of helping shape their child's first experience with school.

CCNS has had an AMAZING year so far! We welcomed in some new students mid-way through the year and the classrooms have grown stronger! Busy Bears (4 y/o) are prepping for Kindergarten and the Darling Ducklings (3 y/o) will soon become little Busy Bears.

We welcome perspective parents to come visit and speak with our wonderful director, Mrs. Nita as well as our Karoliina Nauha, our membership chair.

The Crescenta-Canada Cooperative Nursery school has been teaching and caring for preschool aged children for over 50 years.

The goal is to provide rich experiences and opportunities for children to develop sound relationships with their peers while providing a nurturing environment where children can develop good feelings about themselves, their abilities and the world around them.

As a cooperative, CCNS is guided by a volunteer board of directors to establish policies and guidelines while parents join together to manage the day-to-day activities and maintenance of the school.  CCNS is Christian based and is non-denominational.

CCNS is located at 1700 Foothill Blvd. La Canada, CA 91011-2021 Phone: 818.952.2524 www.ccnsonline.com

We're in our 5th year at CCNS and wouldn't trade the experience. My daughter was well-prepared for kindergarten, and now my son is just about ready for kinder. I am so grateful to be in the classroom twice a month, participating in my kid's education and learning so much myself from the teachers. I also enjoy getting to know the other children and their parents. I'm a big fan of co-ops, and big fan of CCNS!
