Patch Blog: LCF Daisy Girl Scouts Bridge to Brownies

La Canada Daisy Troop scouts bridge to the Brownie level at Glenola Park. Girl Scouts in La Canada Flintridge help make our community a better place.

Over 60 Daisy scouts from the local elementary schools: PCR, LCE and PCY gathered with their Girl Scout troop leaders at Glenola Park Friday. As the sun peeked through the clouds, a crowd of proud parents sat on blankets to witness and photograph their daughter's rise up to the next leadership level: Brownies.

Several sixth grade Cadets helped each troop get ready for the ceremony. After reciting the pledge of allegiance and the Girl Scout Law, the Cadets performed a skit about being a good Brownie.

The six and seven year-old Daisy girls stood together as their troop was called up to the gazebo. As each girl’s name was called, she walked over the small bridge to receive her new Brownie vest from her leader.

After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed brownies, cookies and juice at the small park off of Angeles Crest Hwy.

The Girl Scout Leadership experience engages girls in discovering self. They connect with others, and take action to make the world a better place.
