Blog: Jon Curtis Running for City Council

Three candidates are running for two vacant City Council seats. La Canada Planning Commissioner Jon Curtis has my vote. Please vote on March 5th.

Sunday night I hosted a meet-and-greet for La Canada Planning Commissioner Jon Curtis.

Since Mayor Steve Del Guercio won’t seek re-election, three contenders are running for two seats: Councilman Dave Spence, Jon Curtis and 25-year old Joe Layton.

With 20 neighbors and friends present, Curtis eloquently emphasized that he is trying to get the word out for the community to VOTE in the March 5, 2013 election.

Curtis has been on the La Canada Flintridge Planning Commission for five years. This experience has provided him with the opportunity to help shape our community, and address our City regarding economic and planning matters that impact us all.

His main objectives for the Council are to protect our quality of life, maintain fiscal health, support schools and local businesses. Curtis believes we can build a better community despite the challenges we face with funding constraints, traffic, noise and air pollution. Other challenges he is prepared to confront are the 710 freeway connection, new water regulations and new government requirements.
