Classical Music Benefit Concert

On  Friday, June 10th at 7:00 pm  La Crescenta Presbyterian will persent a night of world class chamber music featuring some of southern California's finest musicians.  Admission is free but donations will be accepted for Mission Mexico which is a program that involves many men from our community who go down to Tijuana, Mexico to build homes for the impoverished families.  Over the last six years, 12 homes have been constructed and paid for through this vibrant program.

 The musical performance will feature  three members of the Hayhurst family - John, a violist in the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Karen - an oustanding  free-lance flutist and music teacher for the Glendale Schools and their son Andrew who just graduated from the University of Michigan as a cello performance major.  Other performers include  Robert Gupta - violinist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Andrew Duckles - free-lance violist who performs with  the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and on numerous  motioin picture sound tracks and  Marion Kuszyk - oboist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

The repertoire will include works by Brahms, Beethoven, Harbison, Loeillet and  a work  by  event organizer John Hayhurst.
