A public Election Forum for the three candidates for the March 5th election of two seats on the La Canada Flintridge City Council is to be held at 7 PM on February 6th in the auditorium at Flintridge Preparatory School. The event is sponsored by the La Canada Flintridge Coordinating Council and the Kiwanis Club of La Canada. The three candidates, Jon Curtis, Joe Layton and Dave Spence have agreed to appear and Mr. Peter Bachmann, Headmaster at Flintridge Prep, will moderate. Neither of the sponsors will endorse any of the candidates.
The forum will begin, after introductions, with an opening statement from each of the candidates. Each will then have an opportunity to respond to questions from the audience, as consolidated by the moderator. They will finish with a short closing statement. Absent candidates may not provide a substitute speaker; instead, the moderator will read a statement if available. Questions are limited to election issues and those of a personal nature will not be asked.
The forum is open to all. Parking and admission are free. Light refreshments will be available in the foyer.
