Patch Blog: Foundation Summer School Credits Will Count on Transcript
LCUSD sets the record straight that all LCFEF summer school classes will be accepted by LCHS for transcript credit.
Wendy Sinnette, LCUSD Superintendent, and Scott Tracy, LCUSD Board President, provided clarification to the community in response to misinformation presented in a front-page article in the La Cañada Valley Sun (“Making Sure Summer School Courses Count”; March 1, 2012).
According to Wendy Sinnette, “LCUSD has a contractual agreement with the La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation, operator of the summer school program at La Cañada High School, which dictates that LCHS will provide transcript credit for all LCHS students who successfully complete their summer school coursework.”
“Notwithstanding statements in the Valley Sun article to the contrary, it is absolutely certain and unequivocal that LCHS students will continue to receive transcript credit for summer school courses offered by LCFEF,” according to Scott Tracy. “Consequently, there is no concern whatsoever that colleges wouldn’t accept summer school coursework offered by LCFEF,” he said.
