The proposed ordinance includes banning smoking at the following locations:
Common areas of shopping centers (with an allowance for designated smoking areas)

Public events
City-owned and city-controlled properties, including city parks and trails
“I think I start to like that,” LCF reside Beth Lawson told Patch. “Smoking around other people can be offensive, it affects me and my health.”
The La Cañada Flintridge Youth Council originally recommended the ordinance.
“I’m really happy they’re thinking about doing this,” Lenora Blackwelder said. “I used to smoke and have stopped for years; it affects my lungs and I know it’s hard to withdraw from it but it is an ugly habit.”
