Patch Picks: Places for the Perfect Pour
Grab a friend and head out to celebrate summer with a stiff drink, chilled Chablis, or a good old margarita at one of these great spots Patch found to help you relax at the end of a long, hot day.
1. Martinis are made for sipping, and it's no secret that martinis pack a punch. Taylor's magical bartenders make everything from potent to pretty and add complimentary popcorn on the side. While the straight up, two-olive martini is a favorite, Taylor's can shake up just about anything you can think up and doesn't skimp on the pour. 2. For a space that's a little brighter and a bit more casual, 's bar is tops. Park yourself at a table with friends or cozy up to the bar and enjoy a fine selection of wine or a crisp Cosmo. On the weekends, go for one of their famous fresh-squeezed orange juice and strawberry mimosas. Dish, 734 Foothill Blvd. 818-790-5355.
3. Gigante describes ' margaritas, but luckily, they are not gigante in price, especially on Mondays. Head down to the colorful, happy spot and take a mini-break. Los Gringos Locos is known for their margaritas, the recipe for which contains a dash of folklore as well as fresh citrus. Try a blended peach margarita or go old school style on the rocks with salt but without breaking your bank account. Los Gringos Locos, 464 Foothill Blvd. 818-790-2696. 4. Wendy's Wine Bar at offers wine tastings, beer tastings, and seminars for those who want to learn a little more about their favorite vintages and brews. 5. The Camellia Lounge, located in the, offers light fare and cocktails during the garden's extended summer hours until August 25.
